The melBG Backgammon Server is online!

Play online against human opponents, and against computer programs.

Connect using any FIBS-compatible client, with 'server.melbg.net 4321' in the server setting.

This server is developing rapidly, supporting most essential FIBS commands.
Because we are developing, sometimesyou may need to re-create your login.

Please spread the word - the more players logged in the better.

We'd like you to use your real name (or part of it) as your playing identity.
That we we will develop a sense of community and friendship.

FAQ

In 3dfibs, the program freezes after I enter the new username and password.

Close the program and restart - you'll be able to log in.

How do I set up my login using javafibs?

javafibs works perfectly - use the 'new user' command to set up your username.

When I log in using 3DFiBs the program goes into a loop and I can't progress

We're working to fix this. Meanwhile, log into FIBS and then the program will work with the melBG server

If you have difficulty connecting, playing or setting up a new account
please email us and we will try to help.

Would you like to be part of the development team?
Send an email to info@melBG.org detailing your interest.
We'll keep you posted, and you'll be able to provide feedback and suggestions.

You could do any of the following:
1    be a tester (player) - providing feedback, suggestions, comments, wish lists
2    provide bots for the site, including 'teaching bots' based on gnu
3    develop new or improved clients
4    make suggestions

Your support is needed!
Let's have some fun and create something really worthwhile!

We are not 'competing' with FIBS which remains the pioneer in the field.
Questions? Comments? email us or chat with DavidK or soxy on FIBS.
